The Construction Leadership Council (CIC) has published Mark Farmer’s independent review of the housing sector.
The review highlights the “looming disaster” as Government accelerates its house building plans, in order to reach their target of completing 200,000 homes per year. Without any change in the industry the review’s conclusion is that it is “physically impossible”.
The report challenges the house building sector to do things differently – to reduce the reliance on building in the same way that we have for decades, with its heavy demand for on-site labour.
It makes ten headline recommendations a significant one being the role that offsite construction can provide.
At Innovare we are passionate about driving innovation in offsite manufacture to simplify on-site operations and construction processes for customers, so we welcome the report’s recommendation.
Our in-house team is dedicated to reducing on-site construction time and creating sustainable, energy efficient buildings to significantly reduce whole life operational and maintenance costs.
