The school replaced the old Ysgol Corn Hir which had been previously deemed as “not fit for purpose”.
The Gloucestershire Royal Hospital urgently needed a new GP Assessment Unit to address the current pressures within the NHS and healthcare environment.
As part of the school’s development programme there was a radical plan to relocate 2 primary schools into one single site. As part of this relocation, the priority for both the County Council and the Welsh Government was to have the new schools built utilising BIM level 2.
Based on the building fabric targets of Passivhaus standards and utilising the latest green technologies the net-zero purpose built facility provides a full day care nursery with a 24-place classroom and observational suite with leading digital technology.
Aside from the urgent need for school spaces, Thames Park Secondary School’s vision was to provide a high-quality, comprehensive, and meaningful education for all students, by delivering a safe and inspirational new environment where high standards and expectations encourage success.
As part of the specification process for the superstructure on the Hellesdon Rivers scheme Sam Dawe, Technical Manager at Innovaré Offsite was not only asked to design a new structural wall solution to meet stringent robustness tests under Annex B of the Department of Health Environmental Design Guide for Adult Medium Secure Services but also undertook personal responsibility for trying to single-handedly destroy his own work afterwards.
Selected as the superstructure of choice Innovaré Offsite is delighted to have supported Scapes Circular Twin Initiative through it’s i-FAST panellised superstructure solution.

It was identified by the Education Department that Rockwood Academy required an additional 400 plus school places to support the growth of the local community, increasing the school’s capacity from 648 to 1050.
