Achieving net zero construction goals is technically demanding on its own. To achieve them in a cost effective and commercially viable way involves constant innovation in products, materials and processes.

Innovation doesn’t always involve giant leaps. Often, incremental and continuous innovation delivers significant added value. And when change is constantly happening, sometimes you have to look back to see just how far you’ve come.

The launch of the i-FAST system built on this track record to deliver enhanced fire, acoustic, structural and thermal properties. Our latest product innovation – psi-FAST – brings with it greater control over psi values, which measure heat loss due to non repeating thermal bridging.

Enhanced PMV

Producing a system that complied with the latest DfE Output Specification was a major driving force behind the psi-FAST innovation.

Structurally, the panels are thick enough to incorporate load bearing studs and glulam beams to support structures up to 3-storeys or as a non-loadbearing wrap panel.

Our design team uses the Revit tool to design the complex timber structures within a building constructed from psi-FAST panels to ensure the completed building is robust and resilient.

The added robustness of the panels brings another benefit. It’s possible to boost premanufactured value (PMV) by factory-installing cladding and pre fitting doors and windows to achieve guaranteed levels of airtightness. This simplifies the construction process even further and offers greater certainty over programme timings as there are fewer onsite operations to coordinate.

The guaranteed fit and airtightness improves the overall thermal performance to reduce energy consumption in operation. Increasing the PMV also produces a further carbon saving by reducing the number of deliveries to the site.
